Shamala Devi Sekaran

Shamala Devi holds a Ph.D. degree and serves as a Professor of microbiology and immunology at the Department of Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya. Her areas of expertise include dengue diagnostics and immunology and the mechanisms of putative anticancer and antiviral drugs. Additionally, she also carries out work on the endothelium and its role in infectious and noninfectious diseased states. She also has more than 14 patents and has commercialized a few diagnostic kits for infectious diseases. She has authored more than 120 peer-reviewed publications, 2 book chapters, and she recognized as a resource person with TDR/WHO on dengue diagnostics.
