Pierantonio Laveneziana obtained M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. He has been serving as a Pulmonologist and Researcher at the Research Team ER 10 UPMC “Biology and physiology of cardiopulmonary and neurorespiratory interactions,” Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine Pierre et Marie Curie (Pitié-Salpêtrière), the University of Paris 6 since 2010. From 2008 to 2009, he joined the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, the Columbia University Medical Center, the Columbia University, USA. From 2005 to 2008, he joined the Respiratory Investigation Unit, Department of Medicine, Kingston General Hospital (Kingston, ON, Canada), the Queen’s University, Canada. His scientific interests, research area, and expertise include pathophysiology, mechanisms, and language of dyspnoea at rest and during exercise, lung/respiratory mechanics, inspiratory and expiratory muscles function at rest and during exercise and exercise physiology, evaluation of pulmonary gas exchange, and cardiopulmonary interaction, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and interpretation in healthy subjects and patients with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, interstitial lung disease, chronic heart failure, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and unexplained dyspnoea and obesity.
