Santiago Gómez-Ruiz

Santiago Go´mez-Ruiz was born in Spain in 1978. He graduated in chemistry from the University of Castilla, La Mancha, Spain, in 2001. He then moved to the Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid, Spain, where he was appointed as an Assistant Professor and earned his Ph.D. degree in the field of metallocene chemistry in 2004. He worked for one year as Postdoctoral Researcher at the same university and then moved to the Universität Leipzig, Germany, to work in Professor Hey-Hawkins' Research Group as an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow, where he worked for two years. In 2009, he was appointed as a Professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University. His current research is focused on the synthesis and biological applications of metal complexes and the preparation of biocompatible materials with anticancer properties.
