Davor Zeljezic PhD, currently holds a position of Deputy Director at the Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health, Zagreb, Croatia, also elected at the position of Scientific advisor in the field of Biomedicine and Health, and is Vice-president of Croatian Toxicological Society. He teaches toxicology at the Department of Biotechnology of University of Rijeka, and at School of Dental Medicine of University of Zagreb, Croatia. Main areas of his scientific research is genetic toxicology, genotoxic risk assessment form occupational exposure pesticides, and heavy metals, molecular epidemiological studies of genotoxicity of dental materials and appliances, genotoxicity evaluations aiming to deduce exact mechanisms of genotoxicity, gene and/or chromosome specificity, and determining novel relevant biomarkers to be used in genotoxic risk assessment. Until present he authored more than 60 peer-reviewed original scientific papers and presented results of his work at more than 30 international conferences, and has been reviewer for more than 10 leading journals in the field of Toxicology and Environmental Health.
