Ajit K. Meikap

Dr. Meikap did his honours and Master in Physics from the University of Calcutta having been placed in the first class in both the examinations and securing the second position in the M.Sc Examination. He was awarded the Ph.D. (Science) by the University of Jadavpur in the year 1993. The incumbent joined in the Department of Physics, National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India on August 1, 1995 as Lecturer and now working as professor. During this tenure he has published hundred research papers in the journals of the international repute. He has already successfully guided several Ph.D. students and also supervising more some Ph.D. students. He has built up the Low temperature Characterization Laboratory by utilization of funds sanctioned by MHRD, DST, CSIR for different projects for which he was the chief coordinator. He has successfully organized some seminars, short term courses and DST sponsored Inspire Science camp as member, coordinator and resource person. He has delivered some invited talks at the other Universities and Institutes. He has also participating and presenting papers in many national and international seminar and conference etc. He is a potential reviewer of different international journals. In recognition of his potential research work, he was invited by different University in abroad as PDF, Visiting Professor and Visiting Scientist.
