Vinod Kumar Tiwari
Vinod Kumar Tiwari is associated with the Banaras Hindu University, India, as an Assistant Professor of organic chemistry. After his M.S. degree (1998) from BHU, India, he has worked on carbohydrate-based biodynamic agents at the Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India, since 2000, and he was awarded his Ph.D. degree from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, 2004. He has interest in benzotriazole methodology, since 2005, through his adjunct postdoctoral research with Professor A. R. Katritzky, University of Florida, FL, USA. He worked on chemoenzymatic synthesis of complex carbohydrates when he was a Visiting PDF at the University of California, Davis, CA, USA, 2007, then on novel intramolecular glycosidic bond formation methodology when he was a Visiting Scientist at the Universität Konstanz, Germany. He was offered a lectureship at Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, India (2004-2005), before being appointed in BHU, India (2005 until the present time), where he started his independent research career. He has published over 75 publications, 8 book chapters, and 8 patents of high repute. He supervised five Ph.D. theses and ten M.S. degrees dissertations. Tiwari delivered numerous invited lectures (over 55) at different institutes in India, USA, Germany, and Thailand. His research received many prestigious awards mainly Dr. D. S. Bhakuni Award by the Indian Chemical Society (2004) and the Young Investigator Prize (2004).
