György Gát was born in Esztergom, Hungary in 1961. He received an M.S. degree in mathematics from the Loránd Eötvös University, Budapest, Hungary in 1985. He received doctoral degree from the University of Debrecen, Debrecen, Hungary in 1987, candidate of mathematics from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Hungary in 1993, habilitation from University of Debrecen, Debrecen, Hungary in 2000 and the title of doctor of academy from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Hungary in 2009. His research interest are the theory and application of Walsh and other orthonormal systems, convergence summation and transformation of one and multivariate Fourier series.
