Di Wei received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, both with distinctions, from the Process Chemistry Centre, Abo Akademi University, Turku, Finland. He has visited Leibniz Institute of Solid State Physics and Materials Research Centre at Albert-Ludwigs Universität Freiburg, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, with aid of DAAD Scholarship during his Ph.D. degree studies. In 2007, he got offers from both University of Oxford and Cambridge and joined the University of Cambridge as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Since February 2008, he has been a Senior Research Scientist at NOKIA Research Centre. He has coordinated different projects, authored many patents, and peer-reviewed journal publications and books on the topic of nanotechnology, sensors, and energy. Wei has been a Senior Member of Wolfson College at Cambridge University, Cambridge, UK, since 2010 and a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), Cambridge Network, and the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE). He was a recipient of the Royal Society of Chemistry award RSC in 2010 and 1st Prize on R&D for NOKIA Global Innovation of Excellence Award 2009.
