Alexander Andreev

Alexander Andreev received the B.E. degree and the M.E. degree in physics from Leningrad State University, Leningrad, Russia, in 1970 and 1972, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree from the same university in 1979. He received the D.S. degree from Vavilov State Optical Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1991. In 1993, he occupied the position of Professor at State Technical University of St. Petersburg and in 2010, the position of Professor at State University of St. Petersburg. Since joining Vavilov State Optical Institute in 1972, he has been engaged in research and development of high power lasers and their applications as laser plasma and interaction of super-strong laser fields with matter. Since 2010, he has been a Visiting Professor in Max Born Institute, Berlin, Germany. He is a coauthor of more than 100 publications and three books. Professor Andreev is a Member of ROS, SPIE, and OSA.
