Christian PRINS holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris, on resource optimization problems in satellite telecommunication networks. Since 1999 he is a professor of Operations Research at the University of Technology of Troyes (UTT), France, where he is the head of the Industrial Systems Optimization Laboratory. His current research interests concern combinatorial optimization problems raised by vehicle routing, transportation systems, logistic systems (supply chains) and production systems (planning, scheduling, plant layout and design of assembly lines). His favorite solution methods include graph algorithms, dynamic programming, integer linear programming and metaheuristics like genetic algorithms and local search techniques. He has published 7 books, 14 book chapters and 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Transportation Science, Computers and Operations Research, Networks, Mathematical Methods of Operations Research and Journal of Mathematical Modelling and Applications.
