Ravindra S. Goonetilleke
Ravindra S. Goonetilleke is a Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong. Prior to joining HKUST in 1994, he worked as a Human Factors Manager and Researcher at the NIKE Sports Research Laboratory in Portland, Oregon (19911994). He has worked as a Senior Ergonomist at the Biomechanics Corporation of America in Long Island, New York (1990-1991) and has conducted several ergonomics training courses at Dow Corning Corporation, Scott Paper Company and NIKE, Inc. He graduated with a B.S. degree (First Class Honors) in mechanical engineering (1980) from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and earned an M.S. degree in aerospace engineering (1985) from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA, an M.S. degree in industrial engineering (1984) and a Ph.D. degree in human factors engineering (1990) from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He was a Fulbright Scholar while pursuing postgraduate studies in the USA and the recipient of many scholarships and grants. He is an Editor of the International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics, Associate Editor of International Journal of Human Factors Modelling and Simulation and Ergonomics in Design, and an Editorial board member of International Journal of Human Factors and Ergonomics and Human Factors and Ergonomics in Manufacturing and Service Industries.
