Chang-Hee Suh was born in Daegu, Republic of Korea, in 1967. He received the M.D. degree and the Ph.D. degree from the Yonsei University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 1992 and 1999, respectively. Since 1992, he has been an intern and resident at the Severance Hospital, Yonsei University. In 1997, he was a Clinical Fellow of Rheumatology at the Yonsei University. From 1999 to 2001, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Division of Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa, USA. Presently, he is an Associate Professor of rheumatology, Ajou University. He is mainly interested in pathogenesis and biomarker of autoimmune disease, genetics in systemic lupus erythematosus, biomarker of disease activity and infection in autoimmune diseases, and role of stress in the various autoimmune diseases. In 2003, he was the recipient of the Wunsch Medical Young Investigator Award. In 2004, he was the recipient of the Young Investigator Award of the 48th Japanese College of Rheumatology Annual Scientific Meeting. In 2007, he was the recipient of the Young Investigator Award of the 8th International Congress on SLE. He has been a Member of the Korean College of Rheumatology and the American College of Rheumatology since 1999.
