Ramona A. Benkert
Ramona A. Benkert has over 10 years of research experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research in nurse managed health centers. As a result of Benkert's research, the complexities of the provider-patient interactions and the impact these interactions have on hypertension health outcomes among urban African American patients has begun to be recognized as an important issue for nurse managed primary care. Benkert's research has focused on understanding the challenges of incorporating patient-centered care strategies (such as self management support) into the daily practice of primary care and nurse managed health centers. Over the last decade, Dr. Benkert have been the PI or Co-PI on three research projects and three training grants. Dr. Benkert's administrative experience as the Co-PI of an intramural funded grant, The Effect of Psychosocial Aspects of Care on Hypertension Outcomes Among African Americans, as well as, my experience as the Midwest Regional Curriculum Coordinator for a multiuniversity NHLBI funded study.
