Mushtaq Ahmad obtained the Ph.D. degree from the University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, in 1992. He worked as a Chief Scientist and the Head of Isotope Production Division, Pakistan, Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology, Nilore, Pakistan, from 2010 to 2012. He was in charge of Fission Mo-99 Production project at PINSTECH. He supervised many Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.S. research projects. Ahmad is a Chief Scientist and Coinvestigator of various RCA and international atomic energy agency-coordinated research programs. His research interests include large-scale production of 131I, 99Mo, 32P, and 198Au; production of sealed educational radiation sources; fission and gamma-based 99Mo/99mTc generators; 99mTc/188Re/153Sm/166Ho/177Lu/131I radiopharmaceuticals; neutron and charged particle-induced nuclear cross-section measurements; radiochemical separation of radionuclides from irradiated target matrix; radionuclidic quality control of radionuclides for medical applications.
