Selim Kuçi is a Principal Investigator at the Laboratory for Stem Cell Research and Cell Biology of the University Children’s Hospital, Department of Hematology/Oncology, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He received his medical degree from the Medical School of the University of Prishtina, Pristina, Kosovo, whereas his master and Ph.D. degrees in immunogenetics and transplantation from the Medical Faculty of the University of Zagreb, Zagreb, Croatia. He performed research at the University Children’s Hospital, Zurich, Switzerland, in the Laboratory for Stem Cell Research and Transplantation of the Children’s Hospital at the University in Tübingen, Germany, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Memphis, Tenn, USA as a Visiting Scientist. Since 2006, the main focus of his research has been the subsets of mesenchymal stromal cells, basic mechanisms of their immunosuppressive and engraftment-promoting properties as well as their use in the regenerative medicine.
