Daniel Poitras

Daniel Poitras was born in Hauterive, Québec, Canada, in 1968. He received a Ph.D. degree in Physics Engineering from École Polytechnique in Montréal in 2000. Since 2000, D. Poitras lives in Ottawa and is with the Institute for Microstructural Sciences (IMS) at the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada, where he is a Senior Research Officer. Since 2007, D. Poitras is the Group Leader of the Thin Films Group in IMS, a group specialized in research and development in the field of optical coatings from novel application concept, to design, fabrication and optical characterization, from UV to mid-IR applications. D. Poitras is interested in all aspects of optical coatings. He is a lifetime member of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and is/was a member of the Society of Vacuum Coaters. He has been on the Editorial Board of Thin Solid Films from 2004 to 2011.
