Karen B. Avraham is a Full Professor at the Department of Human Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry and a Vice Dean at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel. Avraham received her B.A. degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MI, USA, and then she went on to perform her Ph.D. degree at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel. Her Doctoral thesis focused on the development of a model for Down’s syndrome. Avraham performed her postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute in Frederick, MD, USA, in mammalian genetics.
