Thouraya N. Baranger works as an associate professor. She received her M.S. degree in applied mechanics from the Engineering School of Tunis, Tunisia, and received her Ph.D. degree in applied mechanics from the University of Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France. In 2001 she received Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (Accreditation to Supervise Research), from the University Claude Bernard Lyon1, Villeurbanne, France. Since 1994 Baranger serves as a Staff Member of the Department of Mechanics and Polytech Lyon at the same university. Her research interests include inverse problems, structural optimization, nonlinear solid mechanics, finite element and multiscale modeling, composite materials and structures, dynamics of rotating machines, fatigue stress, and strain of elastomer components. Her research projects have been supported by ANR, FUI, and industries.
