Alberto N. Araújo
Alberto N. Araújo was born in Porto, Portugal, in 1962. He received both the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Ph.D degrees from the Universidade do Porto (UP), Portugal, in 1986 and 1994, respectively. He is Associated Professor of Faculty of Pharmacy, and staff member of Physical-Chemistry Department. Main research interests are automatic methods of analysis and chemical sensors either with optical or potentiometric transduction. In this context regularly participates in collaborative research programs with other research teams of Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Spain and U.K. In 1995, he won the Young Scientific Researchers Award of Sociedade Portuguesa de Química (SPQ) and Colegio Oficial de Químicos de Galicia (Spain). Since 2001, he becomes researcher of REQUIMTE which is the largest network in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering established in Portugal and recognized as Associated Laboratory for Green Chemistry by the Portuguese Ministério da Ciência e do Ensino Superior. As staff member of REQUIMTE, A.N. Araújo was recently designated as Principal Investigator of Analytical Chemistry line and member of Scientific Committee of Doctoral Program in Sustainable Chemistry.
