Francesco Onida obtained his M.D. degree in hematology in 1999. From November 1999 to June 2002, he had his postdoctoral research fellowship at Leukemia Department at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, USA. He has also specialized in oncology since 2006. He is an Assistant Professor of hematology at Department of Clinical Sciences and Community Health at the University of Milan and a Faculty Physician at the Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit, Hematology 1, Fondazione IRCCS Cà Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, Milan, Italy. He is an active Member in the EBMT Chronic Malignancies Working Party, Lymphoma Working Party, and Autoimmune Diseases Working Party. His areas of expertise are myelodysplastic syndromes, myeloproliferative neoplasms, myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms, cutaneous T cell lymphoma, and autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
