Elżbieta Brzuszkiewicz

Elzbieta Brzuszkiewicz was born in Warszawa, Poland in 1977 and graduated in 2002 from Warsaw University. In 2005, she received a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Professor Dr. Gerhard Gottschalk at the Institute of Microbiology and Genetics, Georg-August University, Göttingen, Germany with the thesis entitled "Genome sequence of Escherichia coli 536: insights into uropathogenicity through comparison with genomes of Escherichia coli MG1655, CFT073, and EDL933." From 2005 to 2007, she was a fellow from the Bavarian Research Foundation. From 2007 to 2009, she was postdoc at Robert Koch Institute (RKI) in Berlin, Germany in a lab of Professor Jörg Hacker. Since 2010, she has been a postdoc in Göttingen Genomics Laboratory at the Institute of Microbiology and Genetics, Georg-August University, Göttingen, Germany. Her scientific experience and research interests include genome sequencing, sequence analysis, genome comparison, bacterial pathogenesis, virulence factors, infection and adaptation: E. coli, Bacillus anthracis, Paenibacillus larvae, mycoplasma.
