Mariann Harangi was born in 1974 at Debrecen, Hungary. Harangi received the M.D. degree from the University of Debrecen, Hungary, in September 1998, followed by the Ph.D. degree from the same university in May 2003, and has earned an international fellowship from the Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, University of Regensburg, Regensburg, Germany (2001-2002). From 2002 to 2006, Harangi was a Resident Fellow at the First Department of Medicine, University Medical School of Debrecen, Debrecen, Hungary. In 2006, Harangi became a Clinical Instructor then an Assistant Professor in 2010 at the same department and university and currently works at the Division of Metabolic Diseases, Department of Medicine, Medical and Health Science Centre, University of Debrecen, Hungary. Harangi’s research interests include development of atherosclerosis, dyslipidemias and treatment possibilities, HDL metabolism, HDL-associated antioxidants, lipid peroxidation, and inherited metabolic disorders.
