Toshiyuki Takayanagi received his Ph.D. degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1990 under the direction of Professor Shin Sato and Professor Shigeru Tsunashima. From 1990 to 2004, he worked at Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute. From 1995 to 1996, he worked with Professor George C. Schatz at Northwestern University as a Visiting Scholar. He moved to Saitama University as an Associate Professor in 2004 and became a Professor in 2007. He is currently interested in theoretical understanding of nuclear quantum effects in molecular dynamics and chemical reactions dynamics.
