Chennupati Jagadish

Chennupati Jagadish is a Federation Fellow, a Professor, and the Head of Semiconductor Optoelectronics and Nanotechnology Group at the Australian National University (ANU). He is serving as the President of the IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC) and the Associate Vice President of the Asia-Pacific of the IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society. Professor Jagadish serves on editorial boards of 10 international journals in addition to being an Editor of the IEEE Electron Device Letters, a Founding Editor of the Online Journal of Nanotechnology, and an Associate Editor of the IEEE/OSA Journal of Lightwave Technology. His research interests include quantum dots, nanowires, quantum dot lasers, quantum dot photodetectors, quantum dot photonic integrated circuits, and photonic crystals. He has published more than 530 research papers (350 journal papers), 5 US patents assigned, coauthored a book, coedited a book, and edited eight conference proceedings. He chaired many international conferences and served on many professional society committees. He won the 2000 IEEE Millennium Medal and received Distinguished Lecturer Awards from both IEEE LEOS and IEEE Electron Devices Society. He won Peter Baume Award from the ANU. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, IEEE, American Physical Society, Optical Society of America, American Association for Advancement of Science, the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE), the Electrochemical Society, the Institute of Physics (UK), the Institute of Nanotechnology (UK), the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and the Australian Institute of Physics.
