Nicolas Avdelidis

Nicolas Avdelidis holds the BEng., M.S., M.Eng., and Ph.D. degrees. He is a Materials Engineer with working experience in research programs dealing with materials characterization and nondestructive testing (NDT) on various applications, including aerospace and composites. He has managed more than 20 research projects (mostly European-funded projects). He also has an extensive publications list of more than 100 research papers in scientific journals, books, and conference proceedings and has completed more than 50 technical reports for research programs and deliverables. Moreover, he is a Principal Researcher within the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece and also acts as a Visiting Professor at the University of Laval, Sainte-Foy, Canada, working closely with the Vision and Digital Systems Laboratory. He is also a member of the new ISO TC 163 SC1 WG15 for the development of the new ISO standard for thermography as well as a licensed instructor for the Infrared Training Center (ITC) for thermography levels, as he is an expert on thermographic NDT.
