Takuya Nakazato has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Memphis, Department of Biological Sciences since 2008. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2005 in evolution, ecology, and behavior at Indiana University Bloomington. He studied the genetics of speciation and reproductive isolation of tomato species as a Postdoctoral Research Associate from 2005 to 2008 at the same university. Nakazato's current research focuses on quantitative genetics of reproductive isolation and speciation, population genetics, spatial genetics, and landscape genetics of natural plant species, especially wild tomato species.
