Sylvia de Pater

Sylvia de Pater received her Ph.D. degree from the Leiden University, The Netherlands, in 1987. From 1989 to 2001, she worked as a Research Scientist at the Center for Phytotechnology UL/TNO. Her research focused on pea lectin expression and starch biosynthesis. From 2000 to 2011, she was a Project Leader at the TNO of Department Applied Plant Sciences. Currently, she is a Research Scientist at Leiden University with her research mainly focusing on gene-targeting and DNA repair. Pater's areas of expertise include molecular biology, DNA repair, gene-targeting, gene expression, and Arabidopsis in wheat, rice, and potato.
