Joseph S. Yu is a Professor of radiology and a Vice Chair of education; he has been also an active educator for over 20 years. He holds an M.D. degree. He has authored 266 articles, chapters, and abstracts and has given 150 national and international lectures. He is the sole author of the best-selling Musculoskeletal Imaging: Case Review, in its second edition, and was the coeditor of the 2008 ARRS categorical course syllabus in State of the Art Emergency and Trauma Radiology. He has participated in the development of 5 instructional CDs and 3 instructional webcasts and authored 7 self-assessment modules. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Open Journal of Radiology and serves on numerous national and international committees in several distinguished radiology societies and has been an advocate of radiology education since the beginning of his career. Over the years, he has won 7 Outstanding Faculty Teaching Awards for resident training and 2 Outstanding Teaching Awards from the College of Medicine for medical student education. Dr. Yu has been a collaborator on numerous grants totaling nearly $11 million, including the NIH Osteoarthritis Initiative Grant. Dr. Yu's areas of interest include mechanisms of trauma, arthritis, and MR imaging.
