Guangling (Guang-Ling) Song

Guangling (Guang-Ling) Song is currently a Staff Research Scientist leading the electrochemical corrosion research activities and solving vehicle-related corrosion problems at GM Global R&D Center. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Engineering School, University of Queensland (UQ), Brisbane, Australia, where he obtained his second Ph.D. degree and worked as a Senior Research Fellow. His research interests concern degradation of metals in various environments and electrochemical engineering. He has led and undertaken many projects in various areas, such as corrosion and protection of steel and alloys, biodegradation of Mg, degradation of reinforcement in concrete structures, underground corrosion of pipelines, electrochemical techniques, inhibitors, coatings, and electrochemistry of stress corrosion cracking. He has more than 150 journal papers, 2 books, 12 book chapters, 24 patent applications, and many conference keynotes, plenary speeches, seminars, and industrial reports. His publications have been cited over 2900 times with an impact factor index H=24 (December 8, 2010).
