Hui-Xiong Xu serves as the Director of the Department of Medical Ultrasound, Tenth People ’s Hospital of Tongji University (first affiliated hospital), Shanghai, China. He received both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. He is the Vice President of the Youth Committee, Medical Ultrasound Branch, Chinese Medical Association (CMA), the Cancer Imaging Committee, Chinese Anticancer Association, the Minimal Invasive Interventional Medicine Committee, and Wu Jie-Ping Medical Foundation and the committee member of more than 10 medical associations. Xu is also an Expert Panel Member of the international guideline of Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound in the liver by the World Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB) and a Member of the International Contrast Ultrasound Society. He is the Vice-Editor-in-Chief of the World Journal of Radiology (in English), the Associate editor of British Journal of Radiology, and an Editorial Board Member and Reviewer for a lot of journals such as Cancer Letter, PLOS ONE, and European Radiology. Xu has been granted by more than 10 foundations and research projects and has won a lot of awards in the areas of diagnostic and interventional ultrasound. His research interests include US elastography, US-guided ablation for tumor, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound. He has published more than 70 scientific articles in international journals in the above-mentioned areas.
