Sefik Tagay received his M.A. degree in psychology from the Ruhr-University of Bochum, Germany, in 1999, and his Ph.D. degree in psychosomatic medicine from University of Duisburg-Essen in 2005. His research interests focus mainly trauma-related disorders, eating disorders, psychotherapy, and resources (protective factors). He has developed and validated several psychometric instruments for adults and children as well as adolescents in the area of psychotraumatology and positive psychology, and during his 11 years as a Researcher in psychosomatic medicine, he has (co)authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications. He is the recipient of several awards, including the 2010 German-Speaking Society of Psychotraumatology Award (DeGPT).
