Berta Moreno got her Ph.D in Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, in 2006. In 2008 she became researcher at the Ceramic and Glass Institute (CSIC), Spain, where she is currently developing her research activity. She is a member of the Materials for Electrochemical Applications (ELAMAT) group, this group focus efforts on the development of new materials with electrochemical properties able to be applied in Energy production devices, as Fuel Cells and Electrolyzers. The main aim of the work is to replace commercial components lowering production costs while enhancing efficiency. Her expertise includes the use of non-conventional methods, as the combustion synthesis, to obtain ceramic, metallic and composite nanoparticles with catalytic or/and electrochemical activity. She has also experience in the assembly of cells from non commercial components and their electrochemical characterization. Berta Moreno is a member of the Spanish Technical Committee for Standards (AENOR), working on the Sub-Commitee dedicated to Power Energy production and Fuel Cells Technology.
