Florian Lesage, Ph.D., works as a Senior Research Director at INSERM (French National Health Institute). He serves as a Molecular Biologist with extensive experience in ion channel cloning, expression, and characterization, in particular in the neurosensory systems. In 1996, he has identified a novel class on ion channels called 2P-domain potassium channels (K2P). Located at Institute of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology (IPMC), Sophia-Antipolis, South of France, his research group is currently aimed to a better understanding of the structure, physiology, and physiopathology of these channels. This includes fundamental approaches (K2P proteomics and gene inactivation) and more clinical aspects (potential role of K2P in genetic and acquired neuronal disorders).
