Krishna M. Bhat
Krishna M. Bhat serves as a Professor of neurosciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine in Texas. His team studies the development, function, and disease of the brain using the model system Drosophila melanogaster. His group has identified a number of genes that regulate neuronal identity specification, asymmetric division of neural stem cells, axon guidance, and adult brain development. Bhat has Ph.D. and M.D. degrees and was trained at Memorial University in Canada, Princeton University, USA, and University of Cagliari, Italy. His work is primarily funded by National Institutes of Health.
