Sheng-Nan Lu graduated from Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU), Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 1984, and then he completed a two-year Master’s course of Public Health (MPH) at National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan in 1986. Following this, he received complete training of internal medicine and gastroenterology in KMUH and became an Attending Physician in 1990 and was awarded a Ph.D. degree from KMU in 1992. In 1997, he moved to Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (KCGMH). Interventional ultrasonography is one of his major clinical interests. At present, he is a Professor of hepatology and epidemiology of CGMH and Chang Gung University. Dr. Lu has published more than 200 international papers with most of them being clinical and epidemiological studies of hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma. He is a Member of editorial board of Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He is also serving as a Journal Referee of more than 20 peer-reviewed journals. He is a Member of council in Taiwan Liver Cancer Association and an Executive Member of council in Taiwan Society of Ultrasound in Medicine.
