Karl S. Coleman

Karl S. Coleman was born in Wisbech, UK, in 1971. He received a first-class B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Leicester followed by the Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the same institution, in 1993 and 1996, respectively. He spent time in Strasbourg, France, as a Marie Curie Research Fellow from 1996 to 1998. He then moved back to the UK to start his independent career and to take up a Royal Society University Research Fellowship at the University of Oxford. He moved to the University of Durham in 2004, where he serves currently as a Reader in nanoscience and nanomaterials. He is mainly interested in nanocarbons, in particular carbon nanotubes and graphene. He is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and serves currently as the Secretary of the Chemical Nanosciences and Nanotechnology Subject Group.
