Cleophas M. Kyama

Cleophas M. Kyama works as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya. He is a scientist with special research interest in studying the pathogenesis of endometriosis and ovarian cancer, special focus on stem cell biology. Kyama earned his B.S. degree in biochemistry from the University of Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya, in 1998. He graduated with M.S. degree in medical sciences in 2004 from The Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven), Leuven, Belgium. Dr. Kyama carried out his thesis work at the Laboratory of Experimental Gynaecology (Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University Hospital Gasthuisberg, KULeuven, Belgium) and was awarded a Doctor of Biomedical Sciences (mechanisms of human disease) in September 2009. The title of his doctoral thesis was ?Endometriosis: New insight in pathogenesis and search for potential biomarkers.? He has coauthored over 40 articles published in internationally peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters in the field of reproductive medicine especially endometriosis.
