Alessandro Rizzi obtained his Ph.D. degree in information engineering, University of Brescia, in 1999. Rizzi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Science and Communication at University of Milano; he is teaching fundamentals of digital imaging, multimedia video, and human-computer interaction. He is one of the founders of the Italian Color Group and member of several program committees of conferences related to color and digital imaging. Since 1990, Rizzi has been researching in the field of digital imaging and vision, particularly in the perceptual issues related to digital imaging and lighting. He published more than 200 scientific papers and has recently coauthored the book: The Art and Science of HDR Imaging, 2011, with John McCann, for the John Wiley IS&T series.
