Toshihiro Tsuruda

Toshihiro Tsuruda was born in Kagoshima, Japan in 1966. He has received the M.D. degree and the Ph.D. degree from Miyazaki Medical College, Miyazaki, Japan in 1992 and 2000, respectively. He was a Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn, USA, between 2000 and 2003. He was a Lecturer at Department of Nutrition Management, Faculty of Health and Nutrition, Minami-Kyushu University, Miyazaki, Japan, from 2004 to 2007. He has appointed at Department of Internal Medicine, Circulatory and Body Fluid Regulation, Faculty of Medicine, University of Miyazaki (Assistant Professor) since 2007. His main interested research area was (1) vasoactive peptides and cytokines in cardiovascular homeostasis, and (2) stromal cells in cardiovascular remodeling. He was recipient of the Jay N. Cohn New Investigator Award-Basic Science of 6th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Heart Failure Society of America in 2002, the Young Investigator Award (molecular and cellular cardiology) of 52nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the American College of Cardiology in 2003, and the Young Investigator Award of the 8th Scientific Session of the Society of Cardiovascular Endocrinology and Metabolism in 2004.
