Benachir Bouchikhi

Benachir Bouchikhi was born in Kenitra, Morocco, in 1954. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Université de Droit, d’Economie et des Sciences d’Aix Marseille III, in 1982. He earned the D.S. degree in 1988 from the University of Nancy I and assumed a position of Titular Professor at the University of Moulay Ismaïl, Faculty of Sciences in Meknes, Morocco, since 1993. He serves as the Director of the Laboratory of Electronics, Automatics, and Biotechnology. His current research interests involve metal oxide sensors for electronic noses and their application to food analysis. He (co)authored over 40 papers published in international journals and conference proceedings. He coordinated a dozen national and international projects in the area of food safety, the control of the climate, and drip irrigation under greenhouse. Since 2011, he is a Member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Sensors. He serves as a Reviewer for the Elsevier journals and Sensors and Food Chemistry.
