Luca Bombelli received the Laurea degree in physics from the University of Milan, Milan, Italy, in 1980, and he obtained his Ph.D. degree in physics from the Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, USA, in 1987. Bombelli is working as an Assistant Professor at the Mercyhurst College, Erie, PA, USA. Since 1996, Bombelli has been working at the University of Mississippi, University, MS, USA, where he has been serving as an Associate Professor. He has worked on black‐hole thermodynamics, Kaluza‐Klein theories, relativistic chaos, wave propagation and quantum field theory on curved spacetimes, canonical formulations of classical general relativity and quantum gravity, and Lorentzian geometry. His current interests are centered on quantum gravity, in particular, in the causal set and loop quantum gravity approaches.
