Aileen Stockdale serves as a Professor in environmental planning at Queen‘s University Belfast. She has a D.Phil. degree in human geography. Her research focuses on rural demographic change with a particular interest in rural in-migration processes and related socioeconomic impacts. Most recently, her research has incorporated a lifecourse perspective and is set within the context of demographic ageing. She is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society with the Institute of British Geographers.
