Yoshihiro Uesawa received his Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan, in 1992. He has been an Associate Professor at Meiji Pharmaceutical University, Tokyo, Japan, since 2013. His major areas of research are related to pharmaceutical interactions between medications and foods, analyses of quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR), machine learning, and data mining. In September 2009, he became one of the first-pass winners in the Environmental Toxicity Prediction Challenge, organized by ICANN: International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks, European Neural Network Society (ENNS), and the CADASTER project.
