Vladimir A. Vatutin graduated from the mechanico-mathematical Faculty at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia, in 1974. He has been a Ph.D. student at Steklov Mathematical Instutute, Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Moscow, Russia, from 1974 till 1977. Since 1977, he has been a Researcher of the Steklov Mathematical Instutute of the Academy of Scineces of the USSR and the Russain Academy of Sciences.
