Shozo Makino

Shozo Makino was born in Osaka, Japan,
on January 3, 1947. He received the B.E.,
M.E., and Dr. Eng. degrees from Tohoku
University, Sendai, Japan, in 1969, 1971,
and 1974, respectively. Since 1974, he has
been working with the Research Institute of
Electrical Communication, Research Center
for Applied Information Sciences, Graduate
School of Information Science, Computer
Center, and Information Synergy Center, as
a Research Associate, an Associate Professor, and a Professor. He
is now a Professor of Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku
University. He has been engaged in spoken language processing,
CALL system, autonomous robot system, speech corpus, music information
processing, image recognition and understanding, natural
language processing, semantic web search, and digital signal
processing.
