Ismail Avcibaş received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronics
engineering from Uludağ University, Bursa, Turkey, in 1992 and
1994, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronics
engineering from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2001.
He received a scholarship from The Scientific Council of Turkey,
TUBITAK, BDP Program, and did research on image compression
and steganalysis in the Department of Computer and Information
Science, Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, NY, in 1999–2000.
He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronics
Engineering, Uludağ University, Bursa, Turkey. His current
research interests are in signal processing, data compression, steganalysis
of audio-visual data, and pattern recognition.
