Agustin Sánchez-Arcilla obtained the Ph.D. degree in civil engineering, and he works as a Full Professor at Catalonia University of Technology, Department of Hydraulic, Maritime, and Environmental Engineering. He serves as the Director of the Laboratory of Maritime Engineering, where he develops his research activity in the field of maritime (coastal and harbor) engineering. Currently, he serves as the Vice President of the International Center for Coastal Resources Research (CIIRC). In the academic field, he lectures in several topics at the Bacelona Civil Engineering School. He works as the Coordinator of the M.A. Program in Harbor Engineering and Management, the International M.A. Program in Coastal and Estuarine Management, and the interuniversity Ph.D. Program in Marine Science, imparted jointly between Catalonia University of Technology, Universitat de Barcelona (UB), and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). He has also promoted the UPC-UB interuniversity Official M.A. Program in Marine Science, Oceanography, and Management of the Marine Environment, and the Erasmus Mundus M.A. Program in Coastal and Marine Engineering and Management. He has published over 15 books and 90 research papers in national and international journals, supervised 21 Ph.D. theses, and taken part in more than 30 European research projects.
