Jean-Marie Herrmann

Jean-Marie Herrmann was born in Lyon, France, 5th April 1946. He received the M.A. degree in chemistry from the University of Lyon in 1969, Diploma in chemical engineering from Ecole upérieure de Chimie Industrielle de Lyon (ESCIL) in 1969, and Ph.D. degree in oxidative properties of titania catalysts with the help of the Advisor Professor S. J. Teichner at Institut de Recherche sur la Catalyse (IRC) and Université de Lyon, 6th November 1973. He joined CNRS as a Research Scientist in 1969. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill, USA (at Ippatief Laboratories in honor of Professor R. L. Burwell Jr.) in 1974–1975. He was a Senior Research Scientist at Laboratoire de Photocatalyse, Catalyse et Environnement (CNRS), Ecole Centrale de Lyon, in 1984. Since 2003, he has been the Head of Laboratoire d'Application de la Chimie à l'Environnement (LACE) at Claude Bernard University, Lyon.
