Tsuyoshi Kasama

Tsuyoshi Kasama received his medical degree from Showa University School of Medicine in 1984, and the Ph.D degree from Showa University Graduate School, Tokyo, Japan, in 1990. After graduation, he received his training in internal medicine and rheumatology at the Division of Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine at Showa University. He was a Research Fellow at the Department of Pathology (Professor Steven L. Kunkel), University of Michigan, from 1991 to 1994. Since 2008, Dr. Kasama is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Division of Rheumatology at the Department of Medicine Showa University, Tokyo, Japan. He has several fields of interest, including research on chemokine biology in the autoimmune diseases and pathophysiology and new therapeutic strategies in rheumatic diseases. Dr. Kasama is a Member of several professional organizations, including the Japanese College of Rheumatology, Japanese Society of Internal Medicine, Japanese Society for Immunology, American College of Rheumatology, and also American Association of Immunologists. He is an Editorial Board Member of Immunology and Immunogenetic Insights and Rheumatology: Research and Reviews, and he is also an Ad Hoc Reviewer for many respected journals, including the Journal of Clinical Investigation, Journal of Immunology, Arthritis and Rheumatism, Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, Journal of Rheumatology, and Clinical and Experimental Immunology.
