GALLERANI MASSIMO, born on 15/01/1956, resident in Ferrara, Italy. University Degree in Medicine (a 6 year course)(summa cum laude) University Degree in Business Administration for Health and Social Services (summa cum laude) Specialization in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy Specialization in Diabetics and Metabolic Diseases Specialization in Rheumatology Master’s Degree in Medical Management Master’s Degree in Epidemiology Master’s Degree in Pain Therapy Started in 1983 as a doctor working for 2 years with the Department of Public Health and Prevention at the Local Health Centre at Codigoro; then was medical assistant for 6 years in the Division of Medicine of Comacchio Hospital, Ferrara. From 1992 has been employed at Sant’Anna Hospital, Ferrara, initially as a medical assistant in the Emergency Department (5 years), then in the Geriatrics Division (15 months) and finally for 6 years with the section of Medicine for Geriatrics and Gerontology. From February 2005 he has been Director of the Division of Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine of the University St Anna Hospital, Ferrara. Professor of “Internal Medicine and Geriatrics” and “Gastroenterology” at the Specialization School in Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ferrara. Member of the Italian Society of Internal Medicine (SIMI) and the Federal Association of Hospital Internists (FADOI) and also of the Italian Society for the Study of Arteriosclerosis (SISA). The main interests of study are in the fields of clinical epidemiology, cronobiology and crono-epidemiology, cardiovascular disease, gastroenterology and drug authority control. Author and co-author of 150 publications in national and/or international medical journals and 220 presentations at national and/or international conventions.
